KCERA’s actuary, Segal, has recommended a 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for all current retirees and beneficiaries as of April 1, 2024. The COLA recommendation went before the Board of Retirement at the February 14, 2024 meeting and was approved.
KCERA will pay the 2024 COLA, beginning with retirees’ April benefit payments. Cost-of-living adjustments take into account the annual change in the region’s average Consumer Price Index (CPI) and any “COLA bank” reserves accrued by retirees in previous years.
