Benefit Estimator Instructions
  • Enter the gross amount of your bi-weekly salary. This step will calculate your final average monthly compensation. It is important to remember that your final average monthly compensation for retirement purposes will include many special pay items such as longevity pay, uniform allowance, availability pay, etc. Therefore, this unofficial estimate may not accurately reflect the actual amount of your monthly benefit at retirement.
  • Enter your expected years of service at retirement. Please remember that any personal leaves of absence or any medical leaves of absence that have not been purchased will reduce your total years of retirement service credit.
  • Click your employee type:
    • General Tier I (GC 31676.17) - 3% @ 60 Hired prior to October 27, 2007 and Retired on or after January 1, 2005.
    • General Tier II (GC 31676.01) - 1.62% @ 65 Hired on or after October 27, 2007.
    • Safety (GC 31664.1) - 3% @ 50 effective January 1, 2002.
  • Use the pull down menu to choose your expected age at retirement.
  • The box marked Integrated with Social Security should be checked unless you are employed by a Special District that does not participate in Social Security.
  • Click the Calculate Monthly Pension button. Your unofficial retirement benefit estimate will appear below.

Disclaimer

The Benefit Estimator is a tool to provide members with unofficial estimates of their monthly benefit at retirement. You will need to enter your own personal information in order to use the Benefit Estimator.
