Mr. Whitezell is the Chief Operating Officer of Kern Medical, a public safety-net teaching hospital and Level II trauma center operated by the Kern County Hospital Authority. He joined Kern Medical in 2014 as Director of Performance Analysis and has held executive roles since 2016, including Vice President of Administrative Services. He serves on the Pension Committee for the Kern County Hospital Authority Defined Contribution Plan for Physician Employees. He began his career performing financial statement audits with KPMG.

Mr. Whitezell joined the KCERA Board of Retirement in 2020 and served as Vice-Chair in 2022 and Chair in 2023. He has also served as President of KCERA Property, Inc. He is a member of the TIAA National Healthcare Advisory Council and serves on the Kern County Emergency Medical Care Advisory Board and the board of the Kern Asset Leasing Corporation.

Mr. Whitezell earned a Master of Accountancy and a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
